In Sailing
You learn more than just sailing
Thers more to sailing than the obvious
Think of sailing as a modern-day odyssey. The sea teaches patience, fosters teamwork, and rekindles your sense of wonder.
IS THIS FOR YOU?
What Can Sailing Teach You?
Take a moment to think about everything a captain needs to know...
Think about all the systems the boat has, and out there, you need to handle them all.
A captain is a sailor, a mechanic, a doctor, a plumber, an electrician, a carpenter, a therapist, a group leader, a cook, a cleaner, a swimmer, a diver, a tour guide, and a constant learner.
I’ve narrowed it down to 7 main subjects we’re going to work on during the week:
Boating
Dive into everything related to operating and living on a boat—docking, maintenance, anchoring, cooking, and understanding all the onboard systems. It’s the practical foundation of a captain’s life.
Managing Crew
Discover how to explain tasks effectively, develop communication skills, and manage the division of labor onboard. Leadership isn’t just about giving orders—it’s about creating a team.
Sailing
Learn how to move the boat with the wind. From raising sails and understanding points of sail to wind awareness, weather, and safety at sea, this is where you master the art of sailing.
Managing Yourself
Learn how to stay calm in stressful situations, build healthy routines, and maintain your physical and mental well-being.
Learning on Your Own
Technicals
Cover the essential technical skills, including collision rules, navigation lights, knots, marina etiquette, forecasts, and everything else required to navigate the boating world with confidence.
Making it Fun
Sailing isn’t just about work—it’s about adventure, exploration, and enjoying the everyday tasks. If you’re not having fun, what’s the point? I’ll show you how to enjoy every moment.
You can’t learn it all in a week—it’s a lifelong lesson. I’ll teach you how to learn by yourself, how to grow from your mistakes, embrace them, and move forward with confidence.
By the end of the week, you’ll be hungry to learn more and equipped with the tools to continue your journey as a sailor. Staying modest, curious, and always open to learning.
